151 FOOTNOTE NUMBER ELEVEN بلبل از فیض گل سخن آموخت مود منکر ازوے ہماں کہ چشم بدوخت The nightingale has learnt to sing through the favour of the rose; He alone can deny this, who has shut his eyes. عالم گواه آلائش ا به منکر وحی و القائیش The entire world is a witness to the bounties of God; Only a fool denies His revelation and inspiration. مہر پاکال بجان خود بنشان تا شوی جان من هم از پاکال Cherish in your heart the love of the pious ones, So that you too, my dear, may join the pious ones. ایں خرد جمله خلق میدارند ناز کم کن کہ چوں تو بسیار اند All creatures are gifted with this intellect, So do not pride yourself in it, for there are many like you. چاره ما بغیر یار زہر فرقت چشی کجا ما کجائیم و عقل زار کجا How can we cope without the Beloved! What is our being! And what is the feeble reason! و ناکامی باز منکر ز وحی و الهامی You drink the poison of separation and disappointment, Yet you deny inspiration and revelation. جان تو بر لب از نخوردن آب باز از آب زندگی رو تاب You are on the verge of death for lack of water, Yet you turn away from the water of life. کور ہستی و کیں بدیده ورال وه چه داری شقاوت و خسران You yourself are blind, yet you harbour enmity towards those with eyes. What a pity! What misfortune and loss you enjoy!
