133 FOOTNOTE NUMBER ELEVEN تا نیامد اشارتے زنگار چه فرق در بر آید زدست عاشق زار Unless the Beloved gives a sign, How can an ardent lover make any move at all? سرکش و مطیع خدا جزء بحکمش چال شود پیدا How can the distinction between a rebel against God and His obedient servant Be made except by the commandment of God? شرط تعمیل حکم چوں حکم است پس وجودش بجو نخست اے مست The prerequisite of obeying a command is the presence of the command. O you, who are out of your mind, first look for the command. ورنہ این دعوت غلط بگذار که روم زیر حکم آن دادار Or give up your false claim that, I follow the commandment of God, the Just. خود تراشیدن از خودی فرماں آں نہ حکم خداست اے نادان O ignorant one! A command fabricated out of your own wishes Cannot be a divine command. نه بعرف است و نے بعقل روا که شود خن خویش حکم خدا حکم Neither common usage nor reason permits That your own conjecture should be taken as a divine command. او آن بود که او فرمود پس چو فرمود خود نگه گن زود His is the command which He Himself issues, And you ought to obey it immediately when it is given. کہ ازیں شد ثبوت وحی خدا شد ضرورت مسلم میں جا When it is proven that a revelation is from God, The need of revelation also stands proven.
