51 FOOTNOTE NUMBER ELEVEN FIRST OBJECTION تا میاں بست وحی حق برشاد اے بسا عقد ہائے ماکہ کشاد نه شود از When God's revelation descended for our guidance, Many mysteries were solved for us. تو کار ربانی آسیائے تہی چه گردانی You cannot do the work of God, Why do you turn millstones without grain? تو و علم تو ما و علم خدا فرق بین از کجاست تا بکجا You and your knowledge on one side, we and our divine knowledge on the other; See for yourself the difference between the two. آن یکی را نگار خویش به بر دیگری چشم انتظار ~ در There is one who is in the embrace of the Beloved, And there is another who is looking towards the door in anticipation. آں یکے ہمنشیں به هم روئے آں یکے کام یافته عارت آیدز عالم دیگرے ہرزہ گرد در کوئے There is one who sits beside his Beloved, There is another who wanders in the streets. نہ تمام دیگرے سوخته بفکرت کام There is one who has achieved his purpose, While another burns with this desire. اسرار خود ز خود دم زنی زہے پندار You should be ashamed [to speculate] about divine mysteries, It is a pity that you pride yourself on your intellect. ہمہ کار تو نا تمام افتاد وہ چه کارت بعقل خام افتاد Your entire work has remained incomplete-what a shame! What a worthless companion your defective reason has proved to be.
