88 Essence of Islam-V Remember, these are extremely perilous times, and the calamity is close at hand! Be virtuous, and perform good deeds. God Almighty is Most Forbearing, but at the same time His wrath is a fire that consumes every- thing. He does not allow the virtuous to be wasted. مَا يَفْعَلُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمْ إِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ وَآمَنْتُمْ 23 بترسید از خدائے بے نیاز و سخت قہارے نہ پندارم که بد بیند خدا ترسے نکو کارے که می ترسد ازاں یارے کہ غفا رست و ستارے مرا باور نمی آید که رسوا گردد آن مردے گر آن چیزی که می بینم عزیزان نیز دیدندی ز دنیا تو بہ کردندے بچشم زار و خو نبارے زمیں طاعوں ہمی آرد پے تخویف و انذارے خور تاباں سیه گشت ست از بدکاری مردم به تشویش قیامت ماند این تشویش گر بینی علاجے نیست بر دفع آن جز حسن کردارے نشاید تافتن سرزاں جناب عزت و غیرت که گر خواهد گشد در یکدے چوں کرم بیکاری خرداز بہرایس روز ست اے دانا ؤ ہشیارے 24 من از همدردی است گفتم تو خود ہم فکرم کن بارے [Majmū'ah Ishtihārāt, vol. 3, pp. 2-7] 23 Why should Allah punish you, if you are thankful and if you believe? Al-Nisā', 4:148 [Publisher] 24 Fear God, the Independent, the Most Supreme; I do not imagine that a God-fearing and virtuous person ever comes to harm. I do not believe that such a person is disgraced, Who fears the Beloved the Most Forgiving and Most Overlooking. If my dear friends could also have seen what I see; They would have renounced the world and shed tears from their eyes. The shining sun has become dark because of the evil of the people; The earth is also filled with the plague to warn and to admonish. If you come to think of it, this calamity is like doomsday; And to ward it off there is no remedy except recourse to righteousness.
