82 Essence of Islam-IV which means, 'The Messenger of God in the mantles of all the Prophetsas. ' This requires that I should also have the characteristics of Dhul-Qarnain as Surah Al-Kahf shows that he too was a recipient of revela- tion. [Brāhīn-e-Ahmadiyyah, Part V, Rūņānī Khazā'in, vol. 21, pp. 112-118] God, Who accomplishes everything gradually, first of all designated me as Jesus son of Maryas for this age, for it was necessary that in my early days I should be persecuted like the Son of Maryas and should be called kāfir and accursed and Dajjal and that I should be dragged into courts. Thus to be the son of Mary was my first stage. But in the records of God, I am not named only Jesus son of Maryas but I also have other names which God Almighty made me write twenty-six years ago in Brāhīn-e- Ahmadiyyah. There has been no Prophet in the world whose name has not been bestowed upon me. As God said in Brāhīn-e-Ahmadiyyah, I am Adamas, I am Noahas, I am Abrahamas, I am Isaacas, I am Jaco- bas, I am Ishmaelas, I am Mosesas, I am Davidas, I am Jesus son of Maryas, and I am Muhammadsa by way of reflection. Since God bestowed in that book all these names on me and called me: جرى الله في حلل الانبياء i. e. , the Messenger of God in the mantles of all the Prophetsas, it, therefore, follows that I should mani- fest the grandeur of each Prophet and some attributes of each Prophet should be exhibited in me.
