This means that with the appearance of the last Khalifah, the number of Messengers which had been determined by Divine decree and had been hidden, shall become manifest. This verse also clearly shows that the Promised Messiah will be from among the Muslims. [Tohfah-e-Golarhviyyah, Rūķānī Khazā'in, vol. 17, pp. 241-244] Resemblances between Jesusas and the Promised Messiahas In the Mosaic dispensation, there were sixteen dis- tinctions assigned to Prophet Jesusas. When God Almighty brought the Mosaic dispensation to an end and established the dispensation of Muhammadsa, the All-Wise and All-Knowing designed a perfect resem- blance between the beginning and the end of both these dispensations, as had been promised in the scriptures of the Prophetsas. First, He raised the Holy Prophetsa and described him as the like of Mosesas, as is evident from the verse: إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا 122 . . . But it was necessary that the last Khalifah of the dispensation of Muhammadsa should also resemble the last Khalifah of the Mosaic dispensation, so that 121 Al-Mursalāt 77:12 [Publisher] 122 Al-Muzzammil, 73:16 [Publisher]
