384 BARĀHIN-E-AHMADIYYA PART FOUR تو بگوری باحیات این چنیں کاملان می اند هم زیر زمیں The perfect remain alive, even when they lay buried in the earth And you are in the grave, despite being alive. سالها باید که خون دل خوری تا بکوئے داستانے رہبری You have to endure heartfelt anguish for several years To find the path to the Beloved of the heart. کے بآسانی رہے بک شایدت صد جنوں باید کہ تا ہوش آیدت How can this path [to God] be opened easily? You need a hundred-fold madnesses to come to your senses. واذا سألك عبادي عني فإني قريب أجيب دعوة الداع اذا دعان وما ارسلتك الا رحمة للعلمين And when My servants ask you concerning Me, say I am near. I accept the prayer of the supplicant. And I have sent you so that I may provide the means of attaining mercy for all people. لم يكن الذين كفروا من اهل الكتاب والمشركين منفكين حتى تأتيهم البينة. وكان كيدهم عظیما۔ Those who have disbelieved from among the People of the Book and the idolaters-that is, have firmly persisted in disbe- lief-would not desist from their disbelief until clear proof was shown to them. Their stratagem was mighty. This indicates that the heavenly Signs and rational arguments that God Almighty has set forth at the hand of this humble one were utterly needed to complete the argument. The dark-minded people of this age, who are being consumed from within by the worm of ignorance and vice, were not likely to give up their disbelief without clear Signs and conclusive reasoning.
