115 تا FOOTNOTE NUMBER ELEVEN نه از خود روی جدا گردی تا نه قربان آشنا گردی Until you distance yourself from being self-conceited, Until you sacrifice yourself for the Beloved, تا نیائی زنفس خود بیروں تا نه گردی برائے او مجنوں Until you free yourself from your own self, Unless you become madly in love with God, تا نه خاکت شود بسان غبار تا تا نه گردو غبار تو خون بار Until your dust morphs into a cloud of dust, And until your blood pours forth from this cloud of dust, نه خونت چکد برائے کیسے تا جانت شود فدائے کیسے Until your blood is spilled for someone, Until your life is sacrificed for someone, چوں دہندت بکوئے جاناں راہ خود کن از راه صدق و سوز نگاه How could you be guided to the path of the threshold of the Beloved. Reflect over this with sincerity and depth of feelings. نیست این عقل مرکب آن راه ہوش کن هوش کن مشو گمراہ This intellect of yours is not a vehicle meant for this road. Beware! Beware! Lest you go astray. اصل طاعت بود فنا ز ہوا تو کجا و طریق عشق کجا True obedience demands negation of the ego; Where are you, and how far removed are you from the path of love? تو نشسته بکبر از اصرار کرده ایمان فدائے استکبار After sacrificing faith at the altar of your ego, You rest, relishing your obduracy and arrogance.
