FOREWORD Masih Hindustan Mein (Jesus in India) was written in Urdu by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908), the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, in April 1899. Its general publication occurred on 20 November 1908 in Qadian, India. Initially, the author had intended to write ten chapters and a conclusion, but later decided that the four chapters would suffice. The main thesis of the book, that the enemies of Jesus, peace be on him, had failed to bring about his death on the cross is forcefully established on the basis of evidence contained in the New Testament as well as historical and ancient medical records. The book makes the case that not only had Jesus survived the ordeal of the cross but that, after meeting, dining and spending a night with his disciples he had travelled in search of the 'lost sheep of the House of Israel. Finding them settled in Afghanistan and Kashmir, India he conveyed his message to them and they accepted him-just like the people of Jonas, peace be on him.
